"My son and I made appointments at Maloney Shamie for LASIK. To our surprise neither one of us were candidates, however, two separate procedures were presented to us. Due to having Radial Keratonmy in the past, I was offered the Refractive Lens Exchange (removing my natural lens and inserting artificial lenses) and my son had the ICL (implant contact lens). We scheduled both of our surgeries on the same day in May 2024. The procedure with Dr. Hura was very easy and fast. He made us feel very comfortable with no pain and discomfort at all. After the procedure and later in the day our vision was a little blurry with halos, that quickly went away. Dr. Hura followed up with text messages on our recovery, which was reassuring and helpful answering our questions. My procedure RLE requires 6 follow up appointments with 2 week intervals, adjusting my vision with light. Both my son and I are extremely happy with our vison and the results. We are very impressed with the doctors and office staff who are always very helpful and accommodating. I would strongly recommend a consultation for your eye sight needs with many different options."

"My ability to see at a distance and the clarity of my vision is something that I had never before experienced. I have suffered from bad eyesight since I was 8 years old, and have been utilizing some combination of glasses or contacts since that time. However, in recent years my eyes had deteriorated more and more making it difficult to not only see at night but to enjoy seemingly simple tasks. I am extremely grateful that I was introduced to Dr. Maloney after my sister (and her entire office) got LASIK on her eyes from him. While I was not a candidate for standard LASIK, I did qualify for ICL, and this procedure has allowed me to (as corny as this sounds) live a much fuller life. "I had a great experience with the Maloney-Shamie Vision Institute. I was referred to them by my optometrist for a Lasik consultation. The office was very responsive and got in touch with me quickly after receiving initial info from my optometrist. I ended up not qualifying for Lasik and Dr. Maloney recommended the ICL procedure instead. They were all understanding when I needed time to think about it, and I at no point felt pressured to move forward. After about a month I decided I did want to move forward with the procedure, which required another visit to the office for more measurements. The follow-up was also easy to schedule. At that point, a scheduler got in contact with me to schedule the actual procedure. The next day post-op was scheduled at the same time as the procedure, and the same day post-op was scheduled a few days before the procedure, along with the exact time of the procedure itself. Everyone I talked to at every point always made sure to ask if I had any questions, which was helpful. If I had any questions that came up later, they were also easy to get in touch with. It was reassuring to have multiple post-ops, considering the ICL is a bit more involved than Lasik, and the office runs pretty efficiently so I was able to get in and get out pretty quickly. Overall I would recommend the Vision Institute to anyone who was considering Lasik or the ICL. "
"It is so hard to put into words how incredibly thankful I am to Dr. Shamie and the rest of the Maloney-Shamie Vision Institute. I have had glasses since I was 3 years old and started to wear contacts when I was in the 6th grade. Never in my lifetime of needing visual aides to see did I think I would be glasses and contacts free. Not only did Dr. Shamie reassure me throughout my process that she had high hopes for my vision to be corrected (there can never be a guarantee) by the ICL surgery she was and is one of the most caring doctors and surgeon I have ever come across. She never made me feel rushed nor did I ever feel like she had better things to be doing. I could feel as she spoke to me that she wanted to correct my vision for me as much as or more than I wanted it corrected and her attention to detail is impeccable. Let’s just say my case was not easy and my poor vision and astigmatism was a hurdle that would have to be tackled. I can happily say I am now seeing 20/15 vision in both of my eyes. It is truly a miracle, but also reenforces the fact that Dr. Shamie is a master of her craft. Throughout my appointments leading up to my procedure and all my appointments after I was treated so well by the staff at Maloney - Shamie Vision Institute. The dedication to their patients is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced and there was always someone to call if needed 24/7. I even received a follow-up phone call to make sure I was doing well after calling with a concern after my first eye procedure. Everyone was very professional but also caring and friendly. "I went to Dr. Shamie to have ICL (implantable contact lens) surgery and I couldn't be happier with the outcome! I was extremely nearsighted so LASIK wasn't an option for me. Dr. Shamie and the staff at MSVI made sure I knew everything about the procedure and what to expect afterwords. They do ICL one eye at a time to make sure everything fits and heals properly. Which turned out to be great, because I ended up having it done twice on one of my first eye because the lens was too big. Which allowed them to change the size of the lens for my second eye before having it done. Before switching the lens out Dr. Shamie had Dr. Maloney give a second opinion and they both agreed that it needed to be smaller. Dr. Shamie was able to get me in before her other surgeries to get it switched out right away. After the surgeries I was seeing 20/25 the next day! I'm now seeing 20/15 over a month out! It has been life changing not having to deal with contacts and glasses anymore! I would definitely recommend anyone looking to get ICL or LASIK, to go to MSVI! "Seeing 20/20 post-ICL eye surgery thanks to Dr. Shamie and her wonderful staff. I had been wearing contacts and glasses since I was 13 years old. I am now 30. I didn't qualify for LASIK due to my thin corneas. (Not surprised as I had consultations for eye surgery when I was 18 and 25 at different locations). I knew going into my consultation that I was going to be offered PRK and I was preparing myself to proceed with the procedure. After running my extensive eye exams Dr. Shamie suggested that I should consider the ICL eye surgery procedure to avoid thinning out my corneas since PRK also involves working with them. After reading their book, asking her and the team questions, and looking through ICL eye procedures on YouTube I decided to proceed with it. NO REGRETS. My eyes were fully recovered within 48 hours. Just waking up every morning got to Thank God, Dr. Shamie, and her team for this new vision. I am now living hassle-free from trying to find my glasses at night or thinking about refilling my contacts."

"THIS IS THE BEST MONEY YOU WILL EVER SPEND IN YOUR ENTIRE LIFE. I have not a single regret.I had an ICL procedure with Dr. Shamie and it truly changed my life. I still can't believe that I can just SEE now. Every single person who works in this office is so kind and helpful. I never had to wait more then 5 minutes for an appointment. You have to go in for a lot of checkups and after the first one the receptionists knew my name and would get me right in. All the doctors who work under Dr. Shamie are super knowledgable and professional. Jodi the scheduler is an actual angel of a person. The actual procedure was very smooth. The surgery center was very nice and I was in and out in three hours each time. They are extremely upfront about the cost and every single thing is included in the price they give you, including follow ups with my own doctor. I never got asked for a cent more. "I'm typing this without eyeglasses or contacts after 45 years of needing one or the other. Dr. Maloney is an absolute rockstar. He just completed my ICL surgery a few days ago. I AM A NEW PERSON! From my initial evaluation to my continued post-op visits, Dr. Maloney and his entire staff have been incredibly kind, thorough, knowledgeable, and every other wonderful adjective there is. Like I said, I started wearing hard contact lenses as a young child, soft contacts as I got older, but always had a pair of very thick lenses in my eyeglasses which I had to start wearing full time due to dry eyes. Life was different only days ago...I didn't realize the lifelong burden of my horrible eyesight (-10 in both eyes). I've missed out on so much and now I can experience life in a new way. The man is a legend, my hero, has every reason to have a 'god' complex yet is the most compassionate doctor you'll ever meet.
